Pension Plan Analyst

The position will provide administration, technical assistance, and consultation to pastors and parish business managers on all aspects of the Archdiocese of Denver Lay Employees’ Money Purchase Pension Plan (“Plan”), including forms administration, data archival, self-billing processes, and database maintenance.

~ Responsible for daily administration and maintenance of paper forms and databases for the Plan, includes all approval/denial processes in UltiPro System;
~ Maintains filing system for the Plan, includes preparing and archiving all participant file folders and related documents;
~ Distributes and performs all mailing functions for the plan, including incorrect investment election forms and termination information;
~ Maintains the entire self-billing process, other data tasks, and answers all questions from entities regarding the Plan and processes
~ Maintains Self Correcting Program (SCP) data/list for the Plan;
~ Reviews and files monthly distribution register information;
~ Works with trustee and record keeper regarding the contribution, distribution and maintenance of the Plan and confirms all corrections have been processed;
~ Prepares a reconciliation of the self-billing process for annual audit;
~ Reconciles the forfeiture account, lockboxes and contribution transmittal processes on a quarterly basis;
~ Processes quarterly forfeiture and force-out requests;
~ Prepares and conducts five on-site compliance reviews per year and maintains ongoing summary of on-site review activity; adds necessary corrections to the SCP report and tracks for completion;
~ Processes weekly pension plan loan information to parishes and participants;
~ Assists the HR Manager with the annual training to pastors and parish business manager on self-billing processes and Plan procedures;
~ Monitors all Plan operations/activities, including old pension plans;
~ Reviews annual 70 list for Trustee;
~ Assists with plan document and summary plan description; review;
~ Processes administration fees to Trustee for payment from the forfeiture account;
~ Assists with the annual audit and gathers all data for the auditors;
~ Attends and prepares minutes and information packets for the Advisory Committee four times a year;
~ Compiles data from Plan database for workers’ compensation insurance quarterly billing, bidding purposes, etc.;
~ Compiles the workers’ compensation audit information and billing spreadsheets annually;
~ Assists the Human Resources department with other duties as needed.

~ Prefer an undergraduate degree in pension plan administration, benefits administration or equivalent experience;
~ 3-5 years demonstrated work experience in benefit plans with an emphasis on pension plan administration or benefits administration;
~ Valid driver license.

~ Have a positive and supportive attitude toward the Catholic Church, her teachings, and her work;
~ Refrain from public promotion or approval of, any conduct or lifestyle that would reflect discredit or disgrace on, or cause scandal in relationship to, the Archdioceses of Denver, or considered to be in contradiction with Catholic doctrine or morals;
~ Extensive knowledge of human resources and benefits administration/compliance;
~ A strong knowledge of pension plan design and maintenance;
~ Solid communication skills (oral and written) coupled with strong organizational and customer service skills, and superior attention to detail;
~ A creative and quick intellect coupled with a strong business judgment and analytical mind;
~ An amiable and flexible personality which enables the candidate to work well with diverse personalities;
~ The ability to provide objectivity and respect confidences when dealing with conflict resolution and other sensitive issues;
~ Pragmatic problem-solving skills and ability to provide independent judgment;
~ Appropriate bearing and professional presence;
~ Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Access, Word and Excel.
