Walking with Our Neighbors in Times of Need
When rising costs and unstable housing left Deb isolated and overwhelmed, she turned to Catholic Charities of Denver in her moment of need.
Deb found herself in the same situation affecting thousands of northern Coloradans every day. The high cost of living in Fort Collins left her with limited options and a distressing living environment. After securing a new place but lacking the necessary funds, she faced
rejection when seeking assistance from relatives. With a sense of panic and necessity driving her, Deb turned to Samaritan House Fort Collins for help on October 30th of last year. After support from the staff, Deb secured employment, grew in self-sufficiency and is now preparing to move into a new apartment.
Her story is one of resilience, hope and the transformative power of support, and it serves as a testament to the vital impact your generosity makes in helping neighbors like Deb find a new path forward.
Love is… Nurturing Faith in the Next Generation
This summer, the Totus Tuus program once again brought joy, reverence and a deeper love of the faith to parishes and families across the archdiocese. Through the leadership of young adult missionaries and the enthusiasm of children and teens, the beauty of our Catholic faith came alive.
Parishioners shared how much they cherished celebrating daily Mass with the campers: “Such a reverent atmospher with the children was a boost for our parish,” one parish leader said. Others were moved by how the program deepened devotion to Mary and the Rosary: “Learning in detail about the mysteries of the Rosary and their meanings has been very valuable for our children, cultivating love for religious vocations in their hearts.”
Perhaps most moving was the simple faith or a child who told his father after camp, ” My favorite part or the day was Mass. I was able to understand what the priest was saying, and it was so interesting! This Sunday at Mass I don’t want to bring any books or toys… l just want to pay attention!”

Bringing Light into the Darkest Places
This year, the impact of your generosity reached even into prison walls, where God's mercy continues to transform lives. Deacon Michael Baird, Director of Pastoral Outreach, received a letter from an inmate who received his sacraments and became a member of the Church this Easter, along with five other inmates.
Deacon Baird explained, "It shows the importance of this ministry and how we can offer hope to those that most people would consider to be unforgivable. God's mercy is not limited, and I know there are many volunteers, including myself, who can share how they have seen the Holy spirit move the hearts or those incarcerated.
Thanks to your support of the Archbishop's Catholic Appeal, Father Jason Moore and the Jail and Prison Ministry walked with this man over the past year. He now feels called to share the Gospel with others, and already, twelve fellow inmates have asked to go deeper in their faith.
Deacon Baird shared that perhaps it is no coincidence that the number is twelve, which is a powerful reminder or the apostles who first carried Christ's message into the word, inn the same way, your generosity is helping to raise up new disciples, even in places many might not expect.
Love is… Making Families Feel Seen and Known
Across the Archdiocese of Denver, ministry leaders are discovering new ways to accompany parents and strengthen parish life. Thanks to the support of the Office of Evangelization and Family Life Ministries, which furthers the mission of the archdiocese by equipping leaders through intentional accompaniment, many are experiencing renewed joy in their work. One Director of Religious Education, for example, shared the profound joy she felt during a recent family visit.
She welcomed a new family into the parish with her own children by her side. While the kids played with crafts and ate snacks, she sat with the mother and listened to her story. What began as a simple meeting became a moment of real connection. “I feel like I know her and her family so much better than i even know some of the families who have been coming to class for years! And I know exactly why: it was an intentional visit, with the sole purpose of getting to know them and their family,” she shared.
They began and ended their time in prayer, lifting up special intentions together and allowing the Holy Spirit to guide their meeting. The encounter left her excited for future visits and filled with nope for deeper relationships within her parish community.
