As the social services arm of the Church, Catholic Charities receives essential funding through its appeals, events, and grants to assist those in need. Regrettably, the number of individuals who turn to Catholic Charities for relief continues to rise. The Archbishop’s Catholic Appeal is pleased to extend financial assistance to Catholic Charities to help close the gap between its growing number of clients and the dollars required to meet their needs.

Jennifer’s dream was to reunite her two daughters with their father. When her plans failed and her savings were depleted, the father abandoned them at the steps of Catholic Charities’ Samaritan House. Desperate for food and shelter for her daughters, Jennifer entered the homeless shelter where she was offered not only food and warm beds, but hope, support, education for her daughters, and family-oriented services. Upon completion of a four-month program that equips families with essential tools to become self-sufficient and avoid the downward spiral to homelessness, Jennifer remarked, “I saw how much the Samaritan House program helps people and it made me believe again. It restored my faith in humanity and gave me hope that it was going to get better.”
