Advent is one of the most misunderstood events on the liturgical calendar, but your Archdiocese of Denver wants to make sure you don’t miss out on the riches of this unique time of year.

“Advent with the Director”
The Lay Division at St. John Vianney Theological Seminary is offering its first-ever, three-week course for $35.
One-hour online classes start Monday, Nov. 30. at 9 a.m. or 7 p.m. and continue Mondays, Dec. 7 and Dec. 14.
Daniel Campbell, the new Director of the Lay Division will teach this lecture series that will answer questions like:

What does Advent mean?

What is the history of Advent?

What is the promise of Advent?

What are the customs and practices?
Virtual Advent classes will be provided on Microsoft Teams. Details to view the live lecture will be sent to registered students prior to the course.
This first ever event is just a sample of the treasure of courses and programs offered from the Denver Catholic Biblical School and the Catechetical School of the St. John Vianney Theological Seminary Lay Division.

The schools also offer lecture-based enrichment courses that delve into topics like Dante’s Divine Comedy, Catholic Art and Culture and the Wisdom of the Saints.
Students can follow a two-year or four-year journey to deepen their relationship with the Scripture and with Jesus Christ and open new doors to their faith.
The Denver Catholic Biblical and Catechetical school serves 2,500 students throughout the Archdiocese of Denver and the Diocese of Colorado Springs.
