Holy Family High School’s Board of Members’ Statement

February 5, 2024

The Holy Family High School’s Board of Members announces that Matt Hauptly is stepping down as the principal of Holy Family High School. We are grateful for Matt’s many years of dedication to Holy Family and thankful for what he’s given the school.

“It’s with a heavy heart that I am resigning today, effective immediately, to assist in the care of an ailing parent and to be closer to family on the East Coast. These decisions are never easy, and I will look back on my tenure at Holy Family High School fondly. I remain grateful to my colleagues and especially the students who inspired me with their hard work, creativity, and dreams for the future. Go Tigers!”

Mary Vulcani has been appointed to the role of interim principal. Mary, currently the dean of students, has been a part of Holy Family High School for ten years. She will continue to uphold the excellence and mission of Holy Family High School. Thankfully, Mike Gabriel will remain as assistant principal of Holy Family High School. With his vast experience at Holy Family High School, Mike will continue to bring continuity and oversight of academics and personnel. Additionally, Rhonda Lambrecht, current director of finance, will be assisting Mary Vulcani as Rhonda assumes the decision-making and authority of school finance.

A search for the 2024-25 leadership team for Holy Family High School will begin quickly. We will put together a plan to find a new leader and will start our search process soon. We want to make a thoughtful evaluation of the needs of HFHS and then match our search accordingly. Our intention would be to have someone in place prior to the new school year.
