We offer many events in the Archdiocese for teens, and this will be their first official chance to take part in some of the larger events that take place! We are hoping that parishes can use this as a bridge from elementary school into middle school as we build excitement for youth ministry and all the opportunities they will have in the coming years. ELEVATE is an event that will engage the young people, encourage them in faith and send them back into your parishes to be a part of the communities they are already planted in. Our featured keynote speaker will be Giancarlo Bernini, who is a dynamic Catholic speaker and magician with a passion for evangelization.
As you know, middle school years come with their own growing pains and difficulties. We want to partner with you to set these young people up for a chance to build relationships with one another, grow in faith and rise up to be the person God is calling them to be! ELEVATE is meant to be a tool for you to use as an access point leading into more ministry opportunities, dialogue and community building.
ELEVATE is an event with a few simple goals:
- Offer youth ministries an event to welcome incoming 6th graders into middle school youth ministry, and encourage them to get involved at the parish level
- Build community among your group, as well as the larger Archdiocese
- Encourage the young people to rise up and begin to take ownership of their faith
We encourage you to advertise and bring a group from your parish! A group would consist of a group leader (youth minister, catechist or parent volunteer), any incoming 6th graders, and chaperones (1:10 ratio). We have included posters, flyers and postcards that you can use to advertise.
